Iron children's tricycle, late 19th century
Iron children's tricycle built between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The origin is not known, it could have been produced in Italy or, most probably, brought here by emigrants to the United States or northern European countries. The object is made entirely of forged iron, there are no welds, each element is professionally fixed with nails and this is a detail that confirms its originality. It is in very good condition, there are no breaks and the wheel spokes are all intact. Historical research has shown that the saddle and handlebars were probably originally finished in leather or fabric. Otherwise the tricycle is exactly as it was originally. A small jewel, full of history, to collect or display in a beautiful contemporary home.
