PLATINUM Seller in Milano, Italy
Pair of Lombard lanterns made of carved walnut wood; dating from the 17th century, the taste of the decoration is still reminiscent of the Renaissance. With a square base, the lower band has panels painted in imitation briarwood, the four uprights are painted with leafy festoons and end in small shelves carved in a curl, which support the shaped cornice. On the four sides there are as many removable glass panes, fixed internally by wooden hooks. There is an access hole in the lower part, while in the upper part there is an opening to allow smoke to escape.
