Item description

Original table lamp obtained by electrifying an exceptional church candlestick and providing it with a pongé fabric lampshade. The candlestick was made inspired by a rich Rococo style in a goldsmith's workshop in the suburbs of Paris between 1860 and 1865. The skillful master craftsman made the candlestick using sheets of soft brass which he finely, minutely and wonderfully chiseled with rocaille motifs. The three feet are instead of fusion finished with a chisel, the whole was then subjected to gilding. Three cameos of burnished casting were placed on the base, representing the faces of Jesus Christ, the Madonna, and St. Joseph, respectively. The lampshade and electrification were clearly produced and placed at later times (1950-1953). The pongé fabric is smooth silk with a very compact weave that enhances the brilliance of the colors. The electrical system is working but the wiring is European, the compatibility of the voltage in other countries must always be checked by an electrician before use.
