Dimensions 100 x 70 cm René Gruau (1909-2004): Born in Rimini, Italy, René Gruau moved to Paris in 1928. In 1935 he worked regularly with the magazine Femina and became involved with young designers such as Balmain, Jacques Fath and especially Christian Dior, who revolutionised haute couture with his New Look style of clothing. The undisputed protagonist of the main fashion magazines, L'Officiel, Vogue, Marie-Claire, Harper's Bazaar, etc., he was also passionate about advertising and left behind a unique work that can be summed up in one word: elegance.
