Beautiful and particular pair of French vases in white porcelain with handles; their shape is elegant and refined; in the central part are represented different varieties of flowers hand-painted with meticulous care and artistic skill by a talented miniaturist painter, they are also aesthetically well distributed; the colours of the flowers and leaves are exceptionally real and vivid, it seems almost possible to catch and taste their scent; the neck, the rim, the base, and the elegant handles are finished with pure gold decorations. A small curiosity: the back is practically devoid of any decoration except for a few flowers and leaves painted lightly and roughly; they were certainly commissioned by the customer to be made in this way because they were to be placed in a niche or in a place where only the front could be seen and enjoyed and it was thus pointless and moreover expensive to paint the back. They were produced by the master craftsmen of "Porcelain de Paris" between 1854 and 1860 respecting the old traditions and the raw material (kaolin). The vases are marked with the stamped model mark (number 367/10). "Porcelain de Paris" is a term that collectively refers to the various porcelain decoration workshops and studios in and around Paris, France. It is not the name of a single company or manufacturer and is usually applied to handcrafted objects of excellent workmanship produced in the mid to late 19th century. The manufacturers are in some cases obscure and generally unknown or have created only a few rare pieces. Antique porcelain objects from Paris are the most desired by collectors and can be found in many museums around the world. The vases are in good condition only in some parts the pure gold appears worn, but this makes the two objects much more fascinating and historically interesting.
