Item description

Universally regarded as one of the most prolific and capable designers of Murano glass vases and objects, Flavio Poli has collaborated with some of the most influential and skilled Murano glass makers to create timeless design pieces. Of all of his works, the ones that earned him the most fame are undoubtedly the "Sommersi", a style that was quickly imitated by other producers and is still very popular today. These are vases, ashtrays, paperweights characterized by the combination of bright colors in contrasting tones that generate a beautiful overall appearance: the original collection earned him the Compasso d'Oro in 1954, the most important award for Italian designers. This vase is actually made in the "Submerged" style and is very fascinating. It is very well preserved, with no visible nicks or dents. It features the predictable patina of a glass object that is over 50 years old.
