Lettera 22 typewriter by Olivetti, 1950s. This piece belongs to the first series. Made of metal and die-cast aluminum. It shows slight signs due to time and use but is functioning. Lettera 22 is a popular portable mechanical typewriter made by the Olivetti company; it represents the first example of a portable, lightweight and compact typewriter. It was one of the most successful Olivetti products in the 1950s and received awards both in Italy (Compasso d'Oro Prize 1954) and abroad (best design product of the century according to the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1959).
