Relax aluminium chair-style armchair designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra in 1958. Using panels placed in tension between the two aluminum side elements that make up the structure, they create a taut but elastic seat that conforms to the body. A high-backed, leather-upholstered armchair comes with a headrest cushion and aluminum armrests. The base is swivel with four spokes, made of die-cast aluminum with a chrome finish. It is completed with a footrest that becomes a comfortable support or seat when needed. Backrest and seat with welded upholstery with horizontal ribbing. Upholstery is sturdy black leather, also in the back. Well finished stitching. Side profiles and spacers made of die-cast aluminum with chrome finish. Seating mechanism: backward adjustable tilt. Die-cast aluminum armrests with chrome finish. Four-spoke base in die-cast aluminum with chrome finish. This piece was produced in the 1980s. The chrome plating is in very good condition.
