Item description

Gaetano work table by Gae Aulenti for Zanotta has an original glass top supported by two folding trestles in black and red enamelled metal. A timeless object. With its dry and essential design, it combines modernity and elegance. It can be placed in many different contexts, from domestic to professional, and in each of them it stands out for its personality and refinement. Gae Aulenti, pseudonym of Gaetana Emilia Aulenti (1927 - 2012), was an Italian designer and architect, particularly dedicated to the theme of architectural design and restoration. Considered one of the best architects of her generation, she left an indelible mark on the history of international design. During her long career, she has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Imperial Prize for Architecture awarded by the Japan Art Association in Tokyo. She graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1953, where she also qualified as a professional architect. Gae Aulenti trained as an architect in the Milan of the 1950s, where Italian architecture was engaged in the historical and cultural quest for the recovery of the architectural values of the past and the existing built environment that would flow into the Neoliberty movement. Aulenti was part of this trend, at odds with rationalism. Zanotta believes in an idea of furniture and accessories capable of building pleasant relationships. Products with a soul that become part of people's stories and tales, finding their ideal space. Zanotta products are designed to fit in, without claiming to belong to a style, alongside other products through the layering of experiences and passions that characterise each context, making it unique and identifiable. Each time this happens in a different way, sometimes unexpected, because interpreted by different subjects.
