Item description

Pair of Italian sconces; each consists of a frame with a light and delicate shape, obtained from a flattened and shaped brass profile, and graced by a small brass sphere at the apex; on the front of the frame there is a mirror decorated with a soft and graceful design; these grinding operations were carried out manually with small stone wheels; the mirror is cut and shaped like the frame; on the front, in the lower part of the frame, there are two brass tubes skilfully bent and welded together, at the top of which are placed two thin scalloped lamp holders in black metal; the electric wires pass inside the tubes and come together at the back; a small but sturdy support, fixed to the top of the frame, allows you to fix the appliques to the wall. These are handcrafted objects from a small Lombard workshop near Milan (Lombardy, Italy), produced between 1953 and 1956; the arrangement of the light points with the mirror behind allows excellent and very original lighting.
