Item description

Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas painting depicting the Allegory of Abundance (or of the Four Seasons), still life with putti, flowers and fruit by an excellent painterly hand. A painting of exceptional size and impact, ideal to be placed in an important salon or study, easy to place given the cheerfulness of the subject. Putti of fabulous quality, note the sculpture with flowery headdress in the centre referable to the Goddess of Nature (or Artemis Ephesia, see photo). Still life with thistle, grapes, artichokes, peaches and numerous other finely painted fruits and flowers. A painting that develops vertically, with a remarkable visual impact. Work that has undergone conservative restoration, re-staining, replacement of the frame and restoration of the colour in some places (see photo). In good condition.
