Fledermaus sofa and pair of armchairs by Josef Hoffmann for Thonet - Mundus, early 20th century. Wood structure and seats upholstered with Backhausen fabric. This model is already in the catalog in 1907 but recent documented historical research shows that already in 1905 it was present in the apartment of the architect Gustav Siegel, hence a doubt on the paternity of the model to Hoffmann; it is probably a case of cooperation between the technical study directed by Siegel and the independent work of Hoffmann. This model, compared to the more common one by J. & J. Kohn, has the circle and not the rhombus under the armrests. The armchairs are 74 cm high, 55 cm wide and 53 cm deep.
