African tribal wood mask from the early 20th century painted by Bomberbax at the end of 2022. The artist used special metallic paints to evoke a lunar effect and recall a futuristic Martian landscape. The mask has typical shapes that refer to the art of African tribes; note the elongated shape with an element on top of the head, probably the symbol of an important figure inside the tribe. The eyes are closed, a typical feature of celebratory funerary masks. The face is painted black with four lateral decorative elements (probably representing the celebrant's gifts) in red and green.
