Chinese bronze and cloisonné enamel decorative plate
SILVER Seller in Milano, Italia
Round decorative plate in bronze and cloisonné enamel made in China in the 20th century. Cloisonné enamel is a goldsmith's technique originally applied to jewelry design. The polychrome decoration depicts pairs of birds in love in the middle of a field with different flowers; pink and blue peonies, open and not yet blossomed, coexist on a blue background creating a striking contrast. The scenes are delimited by friezes with ornamental motifs on a dark green background with blue butterflies.
