Item description
Set of three ceramic plates with advertising posters by Richard Ginori for Davide Campari. The first one depicts the poster "The Horses" created by an anonymous artist around 1910; it was produced in a limited edition of 10,000 pieces. A black horse is seen in the foreground and a brown one behind and they are pulling a cart; in this period it was still normal in Italy to use horses for the transport of goods. The edges of the plate are outlined in white. The second plate depicts Leonetto Cappiello's 1921 manifesto "Spiritello" and was produced in a limited edition of 10,000 pieces. A spirit can be seen in the center of a vortex made from an orange peel; the spirit is holding a bottle and dancing happily. This plate also has the border outlined in white. The last plate depicts Marcello Dudovich's poster "On the terrace" from around 1920, produced in a limited edition of 7,000 pieces. It depicts a normal dialogue scene between a man and a woman seated on a terrace; the man has a glass in his hand and is comfortably seated, while the woman leans towards him as if to draw him to her. This plate also has a white edge.
