This elegant set of eight dining chairs was acquired in Paris and made by Thonet most likely in the 1950s. The chairs probably came from the Hotel Plaza Athénée in Paris, France (last photo). The chairs have an elegant and simple design. The chairs have been entirely renovated and upholstered with Franco Fabbri's boucle wool, which gives them an even more elegant look. The wood has been cleaned and freshly varnished with black lacquer, new foams have been added to improve the seating comfort, although the seats are on original sprigs. Some differ in the method of assembling the frame and in their reduced dimensions.
