Steel structure painted black, solid wood crosspiece and rectangular tempered glass top (thickness: 12 cm). Wanting to replace it, a 200 cm long top can also be used. Table suitable for indoor use only. The Frate table, thanks to its minimal, elegant and unobtrusive design, can find a place in many different contexts.
A world-renowned designer, protagonist of numerous artistic seasons and linked to the birth of a new concept of "Made in Italy," Enzo Mari (1932-2020) was above all a great critic and promoter of the design debate, "design consciousness," as Alessandro Mendini called him in Domus in a 1980 editorial. In fact, during his long career, in parallel with the hundreds of objects he designed and produced, he developed an activity of incessant research of a philosophical nature that invested the fields of psychology, anthropology and politics and that he expressed in books and projects that have become legendary.
Driade was founded in 1968 on the initiative of a group of founders consisting of Enrico Astori (administrator who determines product and communication policy by directing choices), Antonia Astori (designer and author of the company's architectural face) and Adelaide Acerbi (image and communication manager). Driade immediately established itself for the quality of an original proposal and a highly innovative industrial policy that addresses three specific design problems: conception, implementation and communication.
