Precious Murano glass wall lamp made in a graceful Art Nouveau style. This is an authentic classic Venetian wall lamp worked according to the renowned Murano glass technique. Every single piece has been mouth-blown by the master glassmaker, then hand-finished giving shape and lightness with exceptional craftsmanship. The pieces were masterfully assembled and the whole took on a soft and harmonious, elegant and refined form. Our wall sconce is also distinguished by its refined 24-carat gold decoration. When the glass is to be enriched with gold leaf, the master glassmaker makes the gold an integral part of the mixture by placing a foil on the part of the mixture collected from the crucible, then covers the whole with a further glassy layer. At this point, the glassmaker performs the blowing operation through which the gold disperses into the mixture, resulting in a gold dust effect. This creates a brilliant powder within the glass itself, which discreetly embellishes the object to be created. The two lamp holders have the lights facing upwards and this allows the light to be diffused throughout the room. In addition, the crystal and gold finish creates magical and fantastic plays and reflections of light. Our wall lamp is a small work of art created between 1950 and 1955 with magical mastery and unparalleled skill by a great master craftsman in a magical, fascinating and artistic place: a handcrafted furnace in Murano. The creation of this object confirms that the Venetian aptitude, celebrated over the centuries, for working glass is an alchemic combination of liquid matter elaborated by artisan intelligence with felicitous artistic intuition, and represents a high expression of the craftsmanship and manual skill of the glass masters, a unique and refined work of art characterised by a complex handwork that is sure to fascinate and amaze. In the central part from which the two arms and other decorations branch, there is a brass plate with several numbered holes, indicating the correct positioning of the various pieces (see photo). The applique is in good condition The electrical system is working but the wiring is European, voltage compatibility in other countries should always be checked by an electrician before use.
