Cholla-style chiseled and burnished bronze sculpture made in India in the early 20th century and depicting Krishna with a Gopi. Krishna is the embodiment of the god Visnu and is depicted here with a Gopi, a cowherd, eager to reunite with the divine; the sculpture is a metaphor for the relationship between what is divine and what is human.
