Item description

The proposed 'Freeria' is a rare example of an unconventional 'bookcase', the result of the original research that accompanied Bruno Munari throughout his life and particularly in the 1970s. This is the decade that celebrates the birth and flourishing of industrial design in Italy and in Milan, his city. Producer: Robots, Milan. Robots immediately understood the importance of research and treasured this trend, thus characterising its own corporate philosophy with courageous choices that have inscribed its name in the history of Italian design. For the painter, sculptor, designer, graphic artist and industrialist, in a word the all-round artist, Bruno Munari, the transposition of the use of 'banally' industrial products, such as steel chains and electro-welded mesh, are a reason for stimulating and continuous research, evidence of his real independence from consumerist logic. His 'Freeria' bookcase hangs on the wall with two dowels and two chains supporting the five steel rod shelves ribbed by two bends and plasticised in black. The only apparently precarious 'construction' stabilises with the weight of the books. Excellent condition. No signs of wear or defects.
