Item description
Papavero floor lamp by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, 1964. It consists of an opaline glass diffuser, a brushed metal shaft and a Carrara marble base. The diffuser consists of a double blown cap that makes the shade soft and finished both outside and inside. The design is minimal but the quality of the materials and light make the object a timeless classic. The object is published in Domus n. 421 (December 1964), p. 33. Light wear due to age and use. Condition is very good except for some minor chips present on the marble base. The flaws are highlighted in the photos. In reality the chips is hardly visible, partly because they are on the lower part of the base.
