Neapolitan Louis Philippe mirror in carved and gilded wood with gold leaf, first half of the 19th century (1840-50). The mirror is presented as a triumph of carved wood with a movement from the bottom to the top where all its finesse can be appreciated. The cymatium is a succession of scrolls, rocaille, comb shells and plant racemes with a mirror in the center. Two feet having a rocaille motif contribute to the elegance and refinement of this splendid object. The mirror is made of mercury salt glass and is coeval with the wooden frame.
