Item description

The modernist style ceramic vase model V229 with Fat Lava elements was made in Germany for Gramann Keramik (Topferei Römhild) in eastern Germany in the 1970s. It is a violet-lilac-coloured vase with textured Fat Lava varnish, inside covered with graphite glaze. It is preserved in very good condition. Signed at the bottom. Dimensions: height 22 cm | diameter 13 cm | base diameter 9 cm | entrance diameter 2 cm. Dimensions in inches: height 8.7 in | diameter 5.1 in | base diameter 3.5 in | inlet diameter 0.8 in. Gramann, also known as Töpferei Römhild, was an East German company. Most of the pieces are handmade and feature some of the earliest volcanic glazes of the period.
