Gio Ponti needs no introduction: he was probably the most influential personality in Italian design and architecture for almost three decades, from the 1950s to the 1970s. In his long career he managed to leave an unforgettable mark on furniture, tableware, architecture and interior decoration. Among his most famous works is the Sedia 646 designed for Cassina and aptly named 'Leggera', given its modest weight. However, the Leggera remains sturdier and a little heavier than its more famous sister, the 699 'Superleggera', which is so light that you almost have to worry about sitting on it. We are pleased to offer these eight original chairs, produced and delivered in the 1960s and preserved in their original leather upholstery. We recommend that they be upholstered before use and can offer this service with either the buyer's own fabric or that of our suppliers. The overall condition is good and the chairs are intact, preserved in their original condition.
