Item description
A striking white frosted Murano glass chandelier designed and manufactured in Italy in the 1970s. It consists of a chrome-plated part supporting three lamp holders and 12 rows, each consisting of seven interconnected ice-effect Murano glass elements. It has never been used because it came from a major lighting shop in Italy that has ceased operations. This Mazzega chandelier represents the design sensibility of the 1970s and showcases the beauty of Murano glass in a Mid-Century Modern style characterised by clean lines, geometric shapes and an emphasis on form and function. The Murano glass elements are reminiscent of the surface of ice. It is a strong piece with a significant presence in the room. The cascading design helps create a sense of verticality, making it an eye-catching focal point. The chandelier requires professional installation due to its size and the delicacy of Murano glass.
