Watercolour on paper depicting St. Brelade's Bay Jersey Channel Islands, attributed to Robert Hills. Measures with and without frame 23x33.5 - 11 x 21.5 cm. Robert Hills (26 June 1769 - 14 May 1844) was an important English painter and draughtsman. Hills was born in Islington. He initially studied with John Alexander Gresse, then enrolled at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1788. He mainly painted landscapes and rural scenes. A number of his works can be found in the British Museum in London. A popular artist at international auctions, his works can be found in the most important museums and private collections.
