Nude with arrow and target, bronze bas-relief, 1930s
PLATINUM Seller in Milano, Italy
Novecento bronze plaque with bas-relief, 1930s. It depicts a nude man holding an arrow, pointing it at the center of a target: the symbolism is evident, that is, the exaltation of the man's determination to go straight for the target; this meaning is well in keeping with the fascist period to which the plaque dates, as is the reference to classicism. The plaque is set and presented in a coeval wooden frame. Diameter of the plaque alone (excluding frame): 17 cm.
