Elegant and delicate, this dish is part of the history of Murano glass.
In light blue / blue transparent glass with podded bottom.
The mastery of the glassmakers was such that the plate seems sculpted or molded, so perfect and particular is the bottom.
Due to its patina and method of execution, it can be dated back to the 1920s and can therefore be attributed to the manufacture of Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C.
Ideal to use as a table centerpiece or to add color to a dresser, this plate is ideal for giving a touch of elegance to any environment.
The authorship is attributed on the basis of period documents and catalogs as the plate is not signed. The lack of signature confirms its dating to the 1920s, when it was not common to sign works.
Vittorio Zecchin was a Murano artist born at the end of the 19th century, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
From 1921 to 1925 he was the artistic director of Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C., after this experience in the 1930s he continued his production of highly refined glass by collaborating with glassmakers such as A.Ve.M. Muranese Glass Art, Barovier Seguso Ferro and many others.
The plate is in excellent conservative condition, it has no chips or breakages, only slight signs of aging visible in the photos.
