Etching "Brutalisation/Memory of Constantinople" by Alberto Pasini (Busseto, 1826 – Cavoretto, 1899), 1870. A full-length, shaggy man absorbed in prayer is represented, leaning against a sunny wall, projecting a mysterious shadow behind him . Vigorous translation of a model taken from life in Istanbul (Botteri Cardoso 514) on the occasion of the trip to the East in 1855 following the French Minister Bourée. In its definitive state, with the title and indication of the printer Lovera, it was published in Arte in Italia in November 1870. Copy forward letter. Excellent impression with delicate background glazing on light laid paper, wide margins. Perfect state of preservation. Sheet applied to the upper corners on contemporary ivory cardboard.
