Luster-decorated Albisola ceramic vase signed M.G.A. Giuseppe Mazzotti, first half of the 20th century. It is in very good condition, as can be seen from the attached photos. We would like to point out a small repair on the edge visible in the photos.
Apprentice ceramist from the age of twelve at the Fornari kiln in Albisola, after various experiences as an employed potter in Livorno, at the Bonfiglio factory and in Naples at the Picone family, Giuseppe Mazzotti, known as Bausin, in 1903, in the premises of Vicolo del Pozzo in Albisola, he opened a shop where he made chimney caps for the construction industry. Soon the kiln became the Giuseppe Mazzotti Traditional and Modern Art Ceramics Factory and he began working on his own artistic ceramics, signing the pieces that left the workshop with his initials "M.G.A.".
