Vase from the Cinesi series by Tobia Scarpa for Venini, 1960s-70s. Elegant vase with lid in white "incamiciato" glass. The Cinesi series was designed by Carlo Scarpa in the 1940s, his son Tobia starting in the 1960s made numerous variations of it paying homage to his father. The vase is in excellent state of preservation and has no defects. Pointedly signed in the base "Venini Italia". Tobia Scarpa is an Italian architect and designer who was joined for most of his career by his wife Afra Bianchin; the two boasted collaborations with big names in design such as Cassina, B&B, Knoll International and numerous others. He was a Compasso d'Oro winner in 1970 with the Soriana chair for Cassina.
