Item description

Black metal Tizio floor lamp by Richard Sapper for Artemide, 1970s. Thanks to its aesthetic and functional balance, Tizio remains a marvel of modern design. Created in 1972, it is constructed with two counterweights that allow the user to direct the light at will. The lamp is adjusted by pulling or pushing the hand and stays in place. Eliminating the need for extraneous wires and enhancing a clean aesthetic, Tizio's arms conduct electricity to the bulb, which was an early introduction to halogen. A small diffuser works with the light source to provide highly concentrated light. A multiple award-winner, Tizio is featured in MoMA's permanent collection, among others. Wear consistent with age and use.
