Celadon green porcelain ink box, 1920s
Antique Celadon green porcelain ink box dating from the Qing dynasty, Yongzhen period. This box is in excellent condition. It weighs 490 g and measures 10x10x7.5 cm. The lid is decorated with an image of a blue Foo Dog, while on the four sides, around and outside the base, are painted images telling life stories. The inner lid and bottom show scenes of children playing. The box is encased in a sort of 'cage' of silver foil (tested for silver, red dot in photo no. 5, positive result) embossed and engraved with decorations of winged dragons. No chips or cracks can be seen, only normal cracking due to age. On the bottom (see last photo) is the production/signature hallmark. A very beautiful and special object in an excellent state of preservation. As this is an antique object, please look at the photos which are an integral part of the description.
