An Impressionist painter, Vincenzo Caprile was linked to the School of Resìna in Ercolano and dedicated himself to representing landscape scenes and popular characters. His pictorial technique denotes a great freshness of trait and determined excellent commercial success. Later, his style turned towards realism, and his painting had a very poetic connotation, concerning immediacy with a certain refinement regarding chromaticism and composition. Together with other Neapolitan painters, he painted the rooms of the historic Cafè Gambrinus in Naples.
