Old Italian painting from the 19th century. Oil on panel painting depicting a religious subject, The Death of Joseph, by a good painterly hand. Nicely sized painting adorned with a carved wooden frame, made of antique and modern elements, with some minor signs of time. A work of great pictorial intensity, pleasing the setting chosen by the painter, who has placed the Madonna on the right, Jesus on the left and a winged angel at the bottom next to Joseph. Structurally sound panel showing significant colour fading and conservation work (see photo), to be restored. Light painting H 77 x W 56 cm.
