This vintage rug from the 1970s is attributed to Ken Scott (1918-1991), the celebrated American designer known for his vibrant and bold floral patterns. The rug features a dark green background, reminiscent of a lush garden, almost evoking an atmosphere of pristine, lush nature. Set against this background are large realistic flowers in bright, saturated colors such as red, orange, yellow, blue, pink and purple. Each flower is depicted in fine detail, as if they were hand-painted. The frame around the rug is a light green, which gently contrasts with the dark background, framing the entire floral scene and giving a sense of balance and harmony to the design. On the border, in one corner, the initials “KS” are visible. Made of pure wool, worked on a mechanical loom.
