Elegant group of four Italian paintings from the second half of the 18th century. Oil works on canvas depicting the allegory of the four seasons, of notable pictorial quality and difficult to find. Spring is represented as a young girl immersed in flowers and summer as a woman preparing for the harvest with a sickle in her hand. Autumn is a beautiful girl with a fruit basket holding a bunch of grapes while winter is depicted as an old man smoking in an interior lit by hot coals. To underline the skill with which the girls' clothes, jewels and some meticulous naturalistic details were created. Contemporary frames in carved and Mecca-gilded wood, with some gilding losses (see photo). Paintings on first canvas which show some signs of aging, overall in good state of conservation. Light paintings H 101 x W 74 cm.
