Third quarter of the twentieth century Already a collection Massimo Bargna Description: This statue for the cult of ancestors has extraordinarily compact and elegant forms, the result of a careful composition of volumes. The absorbed face, with the teeth on display (sign of beauty) has an intense expression. The hair is gathered in braids. The element that more than any other makes the Beté style immediately recognizable is the massive neck decorated with ethnic scarifications. These engravings are also found around the promising navel, a sign of fertility and abundance and on the back of the figure. The breast with a bold form follows the curvature of the Rigonfio belly creating a sort of counterweight against the protruding buttocks that gives balance and harmony to the figure. The arms are lying along the sides with the palms of the hands facing upwards, a gesture of availability and generosity. Dimensions: 110 x 26 x 23 cm
