Gorgeous Italian painting of the first half of the eighteenth century. Oil work on canvas depicting a scene of hermit life of Franciscan friars in attitudes of profound prayer. The mystical atmosphere transports us into a cave, a place of penance and ascetic practice. The picture recalls the Genoese school and the area of Alessandro Magnasco (1667-1749), famous for its representations of monastic scenes with distorted figures and with a rapid and nervous pictorial trait (the work is currently not accompanied by expertise, but it is possible to obtain it upon payment of the related additional costs). Cake of the 20th century in carved and golden wood, of beautiful decoration, with some signs of the time. Work already restored with Rintelo, replacement of the frame and color recovery in small points. Overall in good conservative state. Painted light h 57 x l 70 cm.
