Iconic and rare piece of Italian design, this chest of drawers belonging to the "Pellicano" series represents one of the most sophisticated and recognizable creations of Vittorio Introini, a visionary designer who has been able to combine functionality, experimentation and architectural rigor. Produced by Saporiti Italia around 1960, this chest of drawers perfectly embodies the innovative spirit of Italian modernism of the time. Made of walnut veneered wood with a warm and deep patina, the structure stands out for its sinuous and enveloping profile, with curved corners and chiseled details that betray a very high executive quality. The slightly bombed top and the connected hips give the mobile a sculptural elegance and an unusual visual dynamism for the time. The front is marked by four large and perfectly aligned drawers, embellished with original chromed metal handles, consisting of vertical plates with double ring, which add a graphic and rhythmic note to the composition. The base, backward compared to the main body, gives visual lightness to the entire volume, creating a refined game of full and empty. Balanced proportions, noble materials and a coherent design vision make this furniture not only a functional furnishing complement, but a real work of art.
