Extraordinary armchair designed by Cesare Lacca for the famous manufacture ISA (Industry Salotti and Arredamenti) Bergamo, dating back to the 1950s.
This specimen is an emblematic example of elegance and formal research that characterized the production of the Bergamo brand in the post -war period, when Isa established itself as one of the most innovative realities in the panorama of Italian design.
The high back with soft and enveloping lines gives the seat a sculptural and dynamic character, while the rounded armrests and the blue velvet coating accentuating the sense of comfort and refinement.
The bordering with files of brass nails performed by hand, underlines the sinuous profile of the armchair, enriching it with a precious decorative detail, in perfect dialogue with tapered feet in golden aluminum, typical of the isa production of that decade.
In the same years, Isa Bergamo collaborated with some of the most important signatures of Italian design, such as Gio Ponti, Ignazio Gardella, Paolo Buffa and Nino Zoncada, giving life to creations that combined functionality, high quality crafts and a modern and international aesthetic language.
This piece of Cesare Lacca fits fully into that climate of innovation, representing a refined synthesis between organic lines, quality materials and absolute comfort.
Today this armchair is not only a session of great aesthetic charm, but also a historical testimony of the creative fervor that animated the Italian design of the 1950s, destined to enhance contemporary environments or museum collections.
