8 Chairs J & J Kohn in beech, 19th century
Group of bent beech chairs made in the second half of the 19th century by the J & J Kohn company. This is the company founded in 1849 by the two brothers Jacob and Josef Kohn who began to make bent beech chairs and export them all over the world, quickly becoming the major competitors of Thonet production. The company merged with Mundus in 1914 and then with Thonet in 1921. Made of bent beech with an open back with typical curves, the seats are cane-covered.
