Item description

Ancient Spanish painting of the eighteenth century. Oil work on canvas depicting religious subject, adoration of saints with Christ and the Virgin Mary, of good pictorial hand. The painter positions numerous saints in the lower part, including St. Francis recognizable by the stigmate, San Bonaventura with the iconographic attribute of the cardinal hat, San Francesco da Paola depicted as an old man with a beard and the typical habit, Sant'Antonio da Padova with Giglio and Santa Chiara with the osteners (see photo). The representation of the affections with the Christ who holds the hand of his mother Maria as blessed the saints in veneration is moving. Picture of great extent and impact adorned with a wooden frame not coeval, lacquered and golden, of beautiful decoration, with some small falls of color (see photo). Painting full of characters and decorative elements, numerous references to the iconography of the saints in the lower part of the painting (see photo). Opera that has undergone a conservative restoration intervention, rintelo, replacement of the frame and recovery of the color in different points. Ideal picture to be included in a large lounge or study, for antiques, furnishings and collectors of ancient religious painting. In good condition. Painted light h 119 x L 119 cm.
