Like many of the best architects, Martini, Falconi & Fois also ventured into the design of objects. More alien than human, this particular table lamp in opal and chromium is their interpretation of the space era, and is spot on. The upper part, made of chrome, sees the partially chromed bulb embedded in a concave mirror that spreads a warm and diffused light by evoking images of reaction engines and intergalactic travel, while the lower part speaks of mysterious sparkling civilizations that we could meet out there. This lower part also lights up. Since the globe is separated from the round and chromed base, the lamp can be adjusted and inclined according to its desires.
