Pair of 18th century Venetian bedside tables
Manufacture and construction characteristics
We propose a rare pair of Bedside tables of Venetian manufacture and with precision to the eighteenth century and more precisely in the so -called transition between Louis XV and Louis XVI.
The legs still moved on the straight body refer to the previous period of the Baroque.
These cabinets represent a remarkable example of the Venetian Abanisteria of the time, characterized by formal elegance and executive skill.
Constructive and stylistic analysis:
Wooden essence: the supporting structure is made of solid fir wood, on which the walnut paving arranged in a thorn of fish highlights the compact vein and the remarkable hardness proper to the essence.
The exposed surfaces, including the plane, the front of the drawer and the panels of the doors, are finely paved with walnut roots and carefully selected cherry cherries, arranged in order to create refined vein games ("book" or "thorn of fish") which enhance its intrinsic beauty. Finishing and patina: the surface has a shellac polishing which gives a deep coloring and a peculiar luster. Upstaid floor: Perimetral Blow in Becco di Civetta.
Drawer: a single drawer in the upper part.
The socket is characterized by an original brass slut. Inferiore compartment: a swing door, with coordinated plastering in the drawer, hides a functional internal compartment. Legs: The four legs moved with accentuated "cabriole" curvature are typical of the Rococò and Baroque Venetian repertoire.
Conditions: Excellent conservative conditions for age, restored and polished with shellac.
