We present this delightful oil painting on canvas from the second half of the 19th century. The painting bears a barely legible signature in the lower right corner (see photo), probably F. Holl. The painting is not authenticated. It is likely the work of an English painter.
It is a painting of good artistic quality, which clearly demonstrates the sensitivity of a 19th century painter for the representation of landscape. The artist depicts a landscape devoid of figures, where nature is the only protagonist. In the foreground, a river with vegetation is reflected in the water. In the background, mountains partially covered by white clouds on a sunny day.
The painting is in good condition (see all photos carefully) and has minor restorations to the color. Sold without frame.
If you are fascinated by landscapes, this painting is a perfect addition to your collection.
