We are pleased to present this early 20th century oil on masonite painting. This splendid coastal landscape of the island of Ischia is signed lower left: Ricciardi. It is probably the work of the Italian painter Oscar Ricciardi (Naples, 24 February 1864 – Naples, 1935), devoid of authenticity.
This small painting captures the charm of the Italian coast. The dense vegetation of a pine forest on the right overlooks the sea and a fantastic distant horizon where sky and sea meet. The painterly quality is evident in a very personal style, characterized by bold and textural brushstrokes that seem to bring the landscape and trees to life. If you know the Italian islands, you will be fascinated by this painting, so much so that you will feel transported by the scents and sounds of this landscape.
A wonderful painting that will enchant your guests!
The painting is presented in a stunning gilded wooden frame.
