Antique Flemish painting from the 19th century. Oil on panel work depicting a religious subject, The dispute of Saint Catherine of Alexandria with the philosopher, of discreet pictorial quality. Table of nice size and pleasant impact adorned with a carved and gilded wooden frame. Work that develops horizontally, numerous characters and details that embellish the scene.
In the center we find the saint with her head adorned with a flowered garland intent on discussing with the court scholars. In the background a wooded landscape and some classical architecture (see photo). Painting that has undergone a light conservative restoration with small color changes. Framework in good state of conservation. Painting light H 57.5 x W 81 cm.
