Elegant and refined Italian Art Deco square table, crafted between 1930 and 1935. The entire structure is made of solid walnut, beautifully enhanced with a decorative veneer in fine-quality European walnut (Juglans regia), also known as “Italian walnut” or “national walnut.” This prized wood is highly regarded for its exceptional durability, ease of workmanship, and natural beauty, making it one of the finest materials traditionally used in high-end furniture making. The square top is supported by four sturdy rectangular legs and features a thick black glass surface. A second shelf, placed a short distance below the top, creates a well-balanced composition and adds lightness and harmony to the overall design. The table was handcrafted in a workshop in Lissone (Monza-Brianza, Italy), a region renowned for its long-standing tradition of fine woodworking. The artisans, inspired by the refined and linear aesthetics of the Art Deco period, designed a compact piece with clean and decisive lines, giving it a timeless elegance. The design strikes a perfect balance between austerity and sophistication, while the meticulous finishing highlights the natural beauty of the walnut grain. Thanks to the excellent properties of walnut—particularly suitable for sanding, varnishing, and polishing—the surface achieves a smooth and lustrous finish. The result is a discreet yet distinguished piece, capable of creating a calm and refined atmosphere while adding warmth and understated elegance to any interior.
