Large oil on canvas by the Milanese painter Giuseppe Vismara.
The painting is executed with a spatula and has all the intrinsic characteristics of the expressionist current that Vismara adopts in all his works.
The view of the Navigli is a classic of the artist who portrays them in several of his works.
The painting on sale here is large in size and has a great visual impact, in the foreground a street painter is intent on creating a work and seems enveloped by the surrounding landscape which encompasses him and with which he becomes one.
The scene, excellently portrayed, takes the observer back to the frenetic vitality of Milan's canal, captures and transports him, as if inviting him to join the stream of passers-by portrayed in the painting.
The painting is signed at the bottom left by the artist who also places the signature and the date on the back of the canvas where we read "Giuseppe Vismara - Milan - 1991".
The painting is framed in a contemporary gilded wooden frame with white passepartout.
